Interstellar travel, the magnitude in perspective

Have you ever wondered when we will be able to travel to distant stars as easily as in science fiction stories?

The Voyager spacecraft left the solar system at 37,000 miles per hour. At that speed, it would take Voyager 80,000 years to reach Proxima Centauri, the nearest star to us after the sun.

Why is interstellar travel so tough?
